Why Visit the North Rim?
The North Rim is the Grand Canyon's quiet side: higher, cooler, greener, and far less crowded than the South and West Rims. It sits only about 10 miles from the South Rim as the crow flies, yet more than 200 miles apart by road.
The higher elevation brings cooler temperatures, denser forest, and some of the canyon's most dramatic overlooks. Point Imperial is the highest viewpoint on the North Rim at over 8,800 feet, joined by Cape Royal, Roosevelt Point, Walhalla Overlook, and Angels Window.
Because it's remote and open only seasonally, most travelers from Las Vegas experience it from the air: fly over both the South and North Rims by helicopter, or take a flightseeing airplane for a wide aerial view.
