We did the 4-in-1 tour and LOVED it! The helicopter pilots were professional and courteous, and the river boat guides were awesome. Absolutely recommend.

Our helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon was a highlight of our Las Vegas trip. Our pilot was very informative, and seeing the Canyon from the ground up was awesome!

Destination Guide

Why Visit the West Rim?

The West Rim is the closest part of the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas, about a two-hour drive, which makes it the top choice for day trips and travelers short on time.

Set on Hualapai tribal land, Grand Canyon West trades National Park crowds for attractions you won't find anywhere else on the canyon. Step onto the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a U-shaped glass bridge that extends 70 feet past the rim with 4,000 feet of open air below. Take in Eagle Point and Guano Point, visit the Hualapai Village, or add the zip line.

You can reach the West Rim by bus, airplane, helicopter, or SUV, and many tours let you mix them. It's the only rim where a helicopter can land on the canyon floor, and the only one with the Skywalk.

70 ft

~10 hrs
Bus day trip, door to door

Grand Canyon West Rim: FAQ

Answers to the questions travelers ask most.

How far is the West Rim from Las Vegas?
About a two-hour drive from the Strip, and a bus day trip runs roughly 10 hours door to door, making it the fastest rim to reach from the city.
What is there to do at the West Rim?
The main draws are the Grand Canyon Skywalk, the Eagle Point and Guano Point viewpoints, the Hualapai Village, the zip line, helicopter floor landings, and Colorado River cruises.
Is the West Rim or the South Rim better?
Choose the West Rim for a shorter trip plus the Skywalk and floor landings. Choose the South Rim for the classic National Park viewpoints if you have a full day.
Is the Skywalk included in West Rim tours?
The Skywalk is an optional add-on on many West Rim tours rather than automatically included.
